What is Osseointegration?
Once the implant is inserted, we must wait for the piece to integrate into the bone. This process is known as osseointegration and takes about three months. It is vitally important to take care of the area during this period, as most implant rejections are related to a lack of care for the implant in this phase of the process.
Once the implant has been integrated into the bone, it is time to place a fixed prosthesis on the implant, being zirconium or porcelain crowns some of the most demanded alternatives nowadays.
We also have the option of placing a temporary crown (usually made of composite resin) during the osseointegration period, an interesting alternative that will fulfill an important function both esthetically and functionally.
After the definitive prosthesis has been placed we will be able to enjoy our new tooth, being the most effective, resistant and esthetic dental restoration technique.
An example of the quality of this treatment is that no one will notice that it is an implant and will mistake it for a natural tooth. In addition, another advantage of the implant is that we will be able to perform all kinds of actions, such as biting hard foods, without any difficulty. In short, we can define dental implants as the best alternative in case of loss of teeth.
